Understanding How Insurance
Works with Our Practice
Navigating health insurance can feel overwhelming, and we’re here to help make the process as smooth as possible. At Holistic Health Clinic, we work with several major insurance carriers and are committed to supporting you in understanding your coverage for naturopathic care. Below, you’ll find important information about the insurance carriers we work with, how we handle billing, and what to expect as a patient.

Insurance Carriers We Are Credentialed With

Understanding Your Coverage
We are preferred providers with many insurance networks. Please note that individual health plans vary.
Insurance benefits are a contract between you (and/or your employer) and your insurance carrier. It is your responsibility to understand your benefits, eligibility, and any financial responsibility prior to scheduling an appointment. You are responsible for payment of all charges not covered by your insurance.
We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier’s customer service department (the phone number is typically located on the back of your insurance card) to verify your coverage. Please specifically ask about benefits and eligibility for naturopathic care, including telemedicine coverage. Be sure to document the date and time of your call, the name of the representative, and request a reference number for the call. This information may be helpful if a claim is later denied.
Please note that Medicare does not currently cover naturopathic medicine, and we do not accept Medicaid.
How We Handle Billing
If your provider is contracted with your insurance carrier, we will bill your insurance directly. As a courtesy, we will contact your insurance carrier prior to treatment to verify benefits and eligibility.
Please note that benefit information provided by your insurance carrier is not a guarantee of payment and will be used to help estimate your financial responsibility. Final determination of coverage and payment is made by your insurance carrier after a claim is processed. We are not responsible for payment discrepancies or denials that may occur once reimbursement is received.
It is the patient’s responsibility to understand and track their deductible, maximum benefits, co-insurance, and any other plan-specific liabilities.
Out-of-Network/Self-Pay
If your insurance plan includes coverage for naturopathic medicine but we are not credentialed with your insurance carrier, full payment will be due at the time of service. Upon request, we can provide you with an insurance claim form for you to submit directly to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement..
Uninsured patients: Please note that we do not offer a sliding fee scale.
